CORUSCATION

CORUSCATION

n. [kor-e-‘ska-shn]
1. Flashes of light: sparkle, glitter; 2. A flash of wit.

Light, Ice, Steel

A temporary installation by Sarah Tundermann at Hampshire College, 6 – 10 December, 2009.
Funded in part by the Design, Art, and Technology Program.

“From a distance, Sarah Tundermann’s Coruscation looks as if tilted beams of white light are emerging from the darkness and slowly inching skyward. Up close it becomes clear that, rather than growing, this ice and light sculpture is disappearing into the sky… As the ice disappeared, so did Coruscation”

-Carla Costa, DART
