SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK LIVE
Children’s Theatre of Charlotte

from the series created by George Newall and Tom Yohe

With a mosh pit, ushers dressed as roadies, confetti cannons where the mess sticks around between shows, a live band and more, the “Schoolhouse Rock” you thought you knew is becoming something totally different. The fun doesn’t stop there – also in house for this rock show: haze machines, strobe lights and larger-than-life concert-style projections.

“This show is like no other,” Adam Burke, Children’s Theatre of Charlotte’s artistic director, said. “Children will think they’re at a rock concert, andparents won’t be able to stop singing along to the songs from their childhoods.”

“Sarah Tundermann’s projections add movement and excitement.”

-by Jayne Blachard, DC Theatre Scene

“A towering backdrop evokes the remains of an ancient edifice. Expert lighting (Joseph Robert Walls) and projections (Sarah Tundermann) fill the shadows of those ruins with often considerable impact. This moody world, further enhanced by William D’Eugenio’s sound design, serves each of the pieces in telling fashion.”

-by Tim Smith, The Baltimore Sun

“A highlight of the evening is the work of Projection Designer Sarah Tundermann [….] this is Broadway caliber work.”
