Olney Theatre presents…

Annie at Olney Theatre

From the director of last year’s hit holiday musical, Mary Poppins, the sun will come out brightly during the holidays. Annie has been the gateway for millions of kids to develop a love of live theatre, with this 40th Anniversary production, a new generation gets its shot. It’s the middle of the Great Depression in New York City, and hard-knocks abound, especially for Annie and her friends at the orphanage run by Miss Hannigan. But when billionnaire-celebrity Oliver Warbucks requires the presence of an orphan to soften his image, Annie unexpectedly finds a way into his heart. Along the way, Warbucks attempts to help Annie find her lost parents, prompting Miss Hannigan to concoct a scheme intended to get her hands on Annie and Warbucks’ cash. Featuring Patricia Hurley (Mary Poppins).

National Players Tour 69

Opens at Olney Theatre Co. on September 16th, 2017, then hits the road for the 2017-2018 season

Where do you find balance when the world is upended?

Whether it’s Alice making sense of the fantastical, Othello trying to reason the impossible, or Jay Gatsby living the unattainable, these are stories for our time right now.

Three plays reflect the innate desire to restore balance in a logical world, a timeless struggle that especially resonates today. Told in National Players’ active and intimate style, we are incredibly excited to take this three-show repertory around the country in 2017-18.
